Chitosan Oligosaccharide manufacturers in India

Food safety is become critical issues because the agricultural product such as fruits and vegetables should be preserved in good condition before consumed by peoples. The infection of fungi on storage could decrease the quality and safety. The post harvest decays from injuries during post harvest and by handling and transportation leads to wounds.

glucosamine

Chitosan is a nontoxic, biodegradable and a high mass linear polymer (2-amino-2-deoxy-β-D-glucan) . It is a deacetylated form of chitin and was first discovered by Rouget, 1859, He observed that by the manipulation in the compound of chitin through chemical and temperature treatments it become soluble. Act as a shell component of crustaceans like shrimp and crab, skeletal invertebrates and cell wall element of fungi and insects. It has biocompatibility, physical stability and processability. Chitosan be described as polycationic heteropolysaccharide contains two monosaccharides, GlcNAc and D-glucosamine (GlcN), linked together by β-(1→4) glycosidic bonds. The reaction of chitosan is more versatile compared to cellulose, due to presence of NH2 group. Chitosan is also available in liquid form i.e.

hydrolysis method in chitosan

The hydrolyzed products of chitosan are called as chitosan oligosaccharides (COSs) due to its shorter chain length and presence of amino groups in D-glucosamine, which is readily soluble in water. The low viscosity and greater solubility of COS at neutral pH serves application in versatile areas. COS produced by acid or enzymatic hydrolysis method, in which enzymatic hydrolysis is preferred due to its safe and ease of control

Different chitosan derivatives and enzymatic products have different structures and physicochemical properties, which may result in novel bioactivities or novel findings in known bioactive compounds. The lack of toxicity, allerginicity with its biocompatibility, biodrgradablity and bioactivity attracted in medicine, biotechnology. The cationic character, chitosan presents a wide variety of physicochemical and biological properties, including antimicrobial, antioxidant and antihypertensive properties. These properties make it suitable for numerous applications in different fields, for instance, medicine (pharmacology, cosmetics), biotechnology, agriculture, the food industry (nutritional enhancement and food processing), the environment (waste and water treatment) and the textile industry. Generally, molecular weight of COS can be considered up to 10 kDa or less, and during preparation of different molecular weight chitosans, viscosity is used as a parameter to determine the molecular weight.
